VISION & METHODS

Without the need to purchase expensive software or iPhones, our project is dedicated to ensuring that visually impaired individuals have the same access and options to digital content as everyone else worldwide.

By leveraging Generative AI, which integrates various screen readers with browsers, we are developing an application that allows users to have a conversational dialogue with the application/browser. This application assists users through its speech function. For example, one could ask it to find out when the next boat departs from Stenpiren to Lindholmen on Västtrafik or help locate outdoor shoes on Ecco.se.

We are employing a ”Nail it and scale it” strategy, meaning we continuously develop the product based on feedback from our target group. This process includes thorough market research, testing, and refinement to ensure that our offering meets a real need or solves a significant problem for our audience, with visually impaired individuals at the center through interviews and tests.

The project aims to overcome a critical barrier to digital accessibility by developing an innovative, AI-driven application, such as a browser or chatbot called AI Get It, to make the internet more accessible for the visually impaired. AI Get It integrates generative AI, screen readers, natural language processing, and machine vision to provide seamless voice interaction, web navigation. The application will offer an intuitive human-machine interface, enabling users to experience the next generation of the internet, including tactile internet and other advanced features. An MVP (Minimal Viable Product) will be developed and tested with 25 visually impaired users in Sweden, Finland and Poland , whose experiences and outcomes will be measured and used to enhance the product.

The project focuses on developing an advanced human-machine interface with an AI-driven application, such as a browser or chatbot accessible via the internet. This application will use voice control to enhance navigation and interaction online, resulting in a more inclusive digital experience. It aims to create an interface that offers quick and seamless access to online information, which is particularly valuable for the visually impaired and those who need instructions in their own language.

The project is committed to developing an AI-driven application that functions as a browser or chatbot, eliminating barriers by providing an advanced human-machine interface, including next-generation internet features. The solution leverages modern AI technology, machine vision, and language processing to ensure low latency and seamless end-to-end functionality. Through its customized and voice-controlled interface, AI Get It navigates the digital world efficiently and intuitively to provide relevant content and give users full access to information and services, regardless of the website’s accessibility standards.

By collaborating closely with national and international visually impaired organizations, large e-commerce players and Google.org – the project contributes to the development of the next-generation digital ecosystem.
